This large opal glass pendant lamp has a sculptural shape reminiscent of designs by Peill & Putzler. This example, however, is significantly larger and comes from a lesser-known, yet interesting manufacturer: Hemi Sweden, a Swedish lighting company active in the 1960s and 1970s.
The lamp exudes the characteristic Scandinavian feel of that period: soft, diffused light combined with a bold, almost architectural shape. Thanks to its generous size, it's a real eye-catcher above a dining table, in a sitting area, or in a room with some height.
The lamp is in very good condition. It was recently fitted with new wiring and a new socket. The metal ceiling panel has been polished and has regained its original shine.
