Old Javanese Bronze Statue - Padmapani This refined bronze statue depicts Padmapani, the lotus-bearing manifestation of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Following a critical assessment of the casting structure and the unique patina, our expert confirms that this is a high-quality ancient object, crafted in the classic Central Javanese style. The interior shows authentic traces of the lost-wax casting method. Iconography & Finish Material: Cast bronze with a deep "gunmetal" patina; a dark gray to silvery sheen with subtle green oxidation. Symbolism: The Padmapani is characterized by the lotus stem growing upwards along the left arm, seated on a double lotus throne (padmasana).
