Product description
A beautiful old Batavia chest with lots of character! The lid hinges still function perfectly, and it holds a lot. I bought it years ago at a second-hand shop in Gouda. I cannot fully reproduce the story, but every traveler was given their own chest, and as the top lid suggests, this one supposedly traveled on the Batavia. We always kept our bedding in the chest, but we are renovating and installing built-in wardrobes everywhere. Hopefully, it will find a nice home with someone else.
