About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This antique inkwell from the Napoleon III era embodies the elegance of historical desk accessories. The piece is distinguished by its sculptural silhouette adorned with embossed floral motifs, topped with a delicately crafted hinged lid. Made of cast metal with a dark finish, this decorative object reveals copper and gold hues where the patina has faded with time. The hinged mechanism opens to reveal the central ink receptacle, a testament to the correspondence techniques of bygone eras. The inkwell is in good condition, retaining all its original character. The authentic patina and variations in color underscore its age and authenticity without compromising its structural integrity. This historical object finds its natural place on a solid wood desk or classic console table. It brings a touch of traditional refinement and history to a workspace or library.
