Modular Oblong sofa designed by Jasper Morrison for Cappellini, Italy. Jasper Morrison creates his furniture with a light touch and yet perfectly functional. He describes his style as "supernormal". For him there is no need for mannerism or decor. His design is pure and yet fresh, with a very deep sense in structures, details and functionality - rational and yet unconventional. With its individual modules held together by industrial zippers, the Oblong challenges our idea of a sofa, and certainly the Oblong series has great potential to become one of the future design classics - its early version has already found its way into the world's vintage design galeries. This 2. The edition of the Oblong comes in a fantastic orange fabric with foam padding and feather filling. The fabric of this sofa is a very solid canvas type with stain protection. The parts are assembled with industrial zipper and mounted on plywood bases that can be locked together. Underneath are felt pads that allow it to move without having to be lifted. For transport it allows the disassembly into its parts, due to size and construction it must be disassembled for transport. The composition of the sofa is not freely modular due to the position of the zippers that coordinate the position of each element. The elongated appearance is soft, it just seems to lie on the floor instead of resting on a pedestal. It has a lower seat height and can even be moved to adapt to the situation. The set consists of an armrest on each side, three seats and back parts. The sofa is in used but very good vintage condition, with only a few signs of use. Design: Jasper Morrison.
