Four original GA chairs by Horgenglarus, designed in 1955 by Hans Bellmann. This design is a prime example of Swiss post-war furniture design, combining a highly minimalist form with technically precise construction. A characteristic feature is the black seat shell, made from two separately molded plywood elements. The narrow gap between the two parts creates the typical, almost graphic silhouette of the GA chair. The gently curved shape flows smoothly from the seat to the high backrest. The slender, chrome-plated base rests on four splayed legs, allowing the chairs to be stacked to save space. All four chairs are numbered 1 to 4 and bear the original Horgen-Glarus manufacturer's labels on the underside of the seat. The label also includes the year code AEIG for 1956.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear. The black wooden surfaces and frame show minor scratches and signs of use; overall, it's in very good vintage condition.
