About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is the "Nonna" rocking chair, designed by the American designer Paul Tuttle. The piece is a remarkable example of 1970s postmodern design, characterized by its sculptural form and innovative mix of materials.
The chair combines a black leather seat shell with an elegantly curved frame. The armrests and back structure are made of black lacquered metal, while the runners are made of shiny, chrome-plated steel, creating a dynamic contrast. This design principle, where the seat appears to almost float, is characteristic of Tuttle's work and his exploration of cantilever construction.
The overall condition of the chair is good and corresponds to its age and use. The leather has developed an authentic patina and characteristic wrinkles that bear witness to its history. The structure is solid and the original design features have been fully preserved.
With its striking silhouette, the "Nonna" rocking chair seamlessly fits into a variety of interior styles. It can serve as an accent piece in a living room, reading nook, or office, offering both visual appeal and comfortable seating.
