A refined abstract marble sculpture titled Noise, created in the Netherlands during the 1990s. Carved from a solid block of white marble, the work is built around a deliberate interplay of rough, flowing and highly polished surfaces, bringing three contrasting expressions together within a single material.
The concept behind Noise lies precisely in these contrasts. Roughly carved areas meet smooth, organic forms and highly polished surfaces, creating a subtle visual and tactile tension — the noise within the sculpture. The transformation of such a hard material into seemingly fluid, almost yielding forms gives the work its distinctive sculptural character. Presented on a dark natural stone base.
