This original barber chair was manufactured by the Swedish brand NIKE (Domkraft A.B.) in Eskilstuna around 1940. The design combines industrial functionality with a robust, classic aesthetic characteristic of professional salon furniture from the mid-twentieth century.
The chair consists of a heavy metal base in a cream-colored finish, combined with silver-colored metal accents and a profiled round floor plate. The seat, backrest, and adjustable headrest are upholstered in a deep black shade, creating a sharp contrast with the light base. The armrests feature authentic Bakelite details. The piece of furniture features a smooth swivel mechanism and a reclining backrest, designed at the time for optimal comfort and ergonomics during professional treatments.
