Hiddehidde has gradually become known for his fascination with trees; they are called tree portraits. Visible in the form is what has happened in the life of the tree.
Grown freely and joyfully, reaching for the sky, but also tormented, bent by the wind, torn, sawn and chopped, with fruitful seasons and always a home for birds and insects. Trees live in a different time zone with ages far exceeding ours. And there they stand, seemingly still.
