Made for Ikea by Niels Gammelgaard and temporarily produced in Italy. Because this model was in production for a very short time in 1987 this is a real collectors item. The chair can be folded. Takes some strength but stands like a house! Chair is in good condition, especially considering its age. Niels Gammelgaard is a Danish designer known for his influential contributions to IKEA's furniture collections. He founded Pelikan Design Studio with Lars Mathiesen in Copenhagen in 1975. His designs are characterized by simplicity, functionality and an innovative use of materials, perfectly fitting IKEA's philosophy of affordable design for all.
