This floor lamp is a faithful reproduction of the AJ Floor Lamp, a seminal piece of Danish lighting design by Arne Jacobsen from 1957. Originally conceived for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, its iconic silhouette and functional elegance have made it a staple of mid-century modernism.
Constructed from aluminium with a golden brass finish, the lamp features its signature asymmetrical, conical shade which can be tilted to direct the light. The interior of the shade is painted white to ensure a soft, glare-free, and comfortable downward illumination. The fixture stands 158 cm tall, with a distinctive circular base measuring 29 cm in width and a shade length of 35 cm.
The lamp is presented in new condition, having been unboxed for photography but remaining unused. The brass finish is uniform and without imperfections, and the tilting mechanism for the shade operates smoothly as intended. It comes complete with its original packaging.
With its clean, geometric lines, this piece is a versatile addition to a range of interiors, from Scandinavian to minimalist and contemporary. It functions perfectly as a reading light next to an armchair or sofa, or as a sculptural accent in a living room, study, or bedroom.
