Product description
This original neoclassical wall mirror was crafted in Southern Germany around 1800. The oval frame is made of spruce wood with finely modelled gesso ornaments and richly carved details. The upper section is crowned by a classical urn with acanthus leaves and ribbons, while the lower part features an elaborately carved eagle motif - a distinctive neoclassical emblem of strength and grace.
The surface shows a refined combination of genuine gold leaf and gold paint, resulting in a beautifully aged and harmonious patina. The mirror plate was replaced at a later date and is clean and functional.
