David Geckeler is a German industrial designer based in Berlin.
"Nerd" means "crazy" in Danish, which describes the personality and design of this chair, designed for Muuto.
The Nerd Chair is based on the combination of simplicity, craftsmanship, and a strong personality.
With its organic shape, a fusion of seat and backrest, the Nerd Chair is a beautiful chair with a unique identity. Another special feature of the Nerd Chair is its construction, requiring no screws or other hardware.
Made of natural oak or water-based lacquered ash.
A chair with an organic design, reflected in both the seat and the backrest.
Nerd Chair dimensions: H 80 cm, W 45 cm, D 50 cm. Seat height: 46 cm.
Available colors: oak, gray, black, white, tan rose, yellow sand, green, and midnight blue.
About the designer:
David Geckeler (born 1984) is a German industrial designer based in Berlin. He graduated from the renowned University of the Arts Berlin in 2012. He began his design studies at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
After completing his studies, David Geckeler worked on various projects for international clients. The Nerd chair for Danish Muuto was one of his first designs to be put into production.
