Product description
DUTCH DESIGN MUSHROOM LAMP BY DIJKSTRA LAMPEN, 1970s
This striking 1970s lamp by Dijkstra Lampen showcases classic Dutch design with a futuristic, Space Age twist. Featuring a sturdy metal frame and a mushroom-shaped shade made of white acrylic plexiglass, its sculptural silhouette blends effortlessly into both vintage and modern interiors.
Founded in 1922 by Fokke Dijkstra in Haarlem, Dijkstra Lampen is one of the oldest lighting manufacturers in the Netherlands. The company gained widespread acclaim in the 1970s for its innovative use of acrylic globes, which created a distinctive ambient glow and a strong architectural presence.
This particular model is no exception—its domed shade emits a soft, warm light, while the contrast between the round form and solid base gives it a refined, minimalist appeal. In very good vintage condition, this lamp is both a functional light source and an eye-catching design object.
