Sariputta: The two-part depiction symbolizes perfect wisdom and the intellectual foundation of the Buddha's teachings. Monumental Presentation: Due to its impressive dimensions and combined weight, the ensemble exudes the same presence as originally intended within a Burmese monastery interior. Solid Hardwood: All three sculptures are carved monolithically from individual solid tropical hardwood logs. The exceptionally high density explains their monumental weight. Under 365 nm UV light, the organic lacquer layers exhibit the characteristic dull green-yellow fluorescence of naturally aged tree lacquer. Hman-zi Mirror Decoration: The robes are richly decorated with Thayo reliefs incorporating original green and silver-colored mirror glass. The natural oxidation of the mirror backing confirms its historical age. Authentic Construction Details: The undersides show original adze, chisel, and hand saw marks, natural drying cracks, and a historically applied iron stabilization pin beneath the original lacquer layer.
