Product description
Museum of Horrors - No. 16 - The Last Clash This is issue No. 16 of a series published by V. Lenepveu between 1899 and 1900. In this caricature, Pierre Waldeck-Rousseau is depicted as a monkey walking a tightrope. The dimensions are approximately 64 x 49.5 cm. It is printed on very thin, delicate paper from 1900, which has suffered tears and damage over time. These are shown in the image. Historical Context: Pierre Waldeck-Rousseau as a monkey walking a tightrope, falling from his rope under a shower of "Mercier leaflets": General Mercier, a staunch opponent of Dreyfus, was elected to the Senate on January 28, 1900.
