Museum of Horrors - No. 15 - Sign of Great Dread! This is issue No. 15 of a series published by V. Lenepveu between 1899 and 1900. In this caricature, Henri Brisson is depicted as a bear. The dimensions are approximately 64 x 49.5 cm. It is printed on very thin, delicate paper from 1900, which has suffered tears and damage over time. These are shown in the image. To preserve the caricature, the lithograph was professionally glued in the past to strengthen the paper. Historical Context: Henri Brisson as a bear, depicted with a parody of the Masonic sautoir (a chamber pot inscribed within a triangle). On June 26, 1898, he performed a Masonic gesture from the gallery of the Chamber of Deputies to urge the elected Freemasons to express their confidence in the government of Pierre Waldeck-Rousseau. ...
