Product description
Lighting, attributed to designer Paolo Venini for his eponymous brand, dating from the 1960s. This piece is a characteristic example of Italian Mid-Century design, known for its elegant form and the use of high-quality Murano glass. Refurbished; original chain removed, chrome parts polished, new wiring, and small (kitsch?) transparent glass connecting pieces removed from the inner icicle ring. Lamp comes with an E27 fitting including a dimmable LED mirror-head bulb. The lamp is made from a chrome-plated metal frame, from which 22 (one piece missing, but this is not noticeable at all) hand-blown glass elements in a teardrop shape hang. These 'gocce' or drops are executed in a vibrant blue color that beautifully catches and diffuses the light. Production took place in Italy, the cradle of Murano glass art, which underlines the authenticity and craftsmanship of the object. This vintage lighting is in very good condition, consistent with its age. The glasswork is intact and the chrome frame has retained its original shine, contributing to the timeless character of the design. As a central light source, this lighting adds an element of Italian elegance to various interiors. It is a suitable accent in a dining room, living room, or a representative hall and combines well with both modern and classic interiors.
