Carlo Nason, born in Murano in 1935 into one of the island's oldest glassmaking families, was a great master glassmaker. He grew up frequenting the master glassmakers working in the family furnace, mastering the most refined techniques of glass art, demonstrating an innovative and design-oriented aptitude that he applied in the field of design, while remaining linked to tradition.
In 1925, the Nason Moretti company was founded by the Nason brothers, specializing in the production of home furnishings and tableware, where the mastery of the most refined Muranese techniques is integrated with a modern vision and careful chromatic research. In 1955, Umberto Nason created an innovative project of two-tone bowls and glasses, earning him the Compasso d’Oro award. In the 1960s, with the second generation of the family, the company experienced significant development, while maintaining its characteristic vocation for experimentation. In the 1980s, attention turned to lighting with postmodern reinterpretations of designed lights, featuring the Carlo Moretti Studio line and series of collectible goblets and glasses. From the 1990s, the activity focused on new collections conceived with a modern and design-oriented approach.
Carlo Moretti di Venezia, founded by Carlo in Murano in 1958, changed ownership in 2013 but remains an important company today due to its constant relationship with design. The company is known for the beauty and elegance of Murano glass, gracing not only the tables of the most important households but also modern tables today. Crafted with ancient and secret techniques, Nason Moretti glass ranges from warm to cool tones thanks to the wide palette of blended colors from which glasses, vases, and lamps are created. Throughout its history, the company has had numerous collaborations with prestigious fashion brands such as Giorgio Armani, Valentino, and Tiffany & Co.
