# Bowl, Murano Stained and Powdered Glass Bowl, Orange. Made by Gino Cenedese, a Filglio glass factory in Murano, Venice. The black spots in the bowl are intentional and are part of the process and design, serving as a contrast to the orange background of the bowl. This technique is called scavo and is inspired by ancient Roman glassmaking techniques. The uneven character and opaque color are the result of salts that were spread over the slab during the final part of the glassmaking process. The glass bowl was made from the late 1980s to the late 1990s.
