Product description
Offered An exceptionally powerful and dynamic original oil painting from 2018 by the Ostend artist Kathleen Stormen (signed on the canvas as Kathleen S./ Storme K.). This unique work, titled/depicted as 'Illuminated Shed' (or 'The Shed'), combines a brilliant industrial atmosphere with a very captivating, intimate genesis. The unique story behind the artwork: This painting has a special, spontaneous history. Created at the very end of the academic year, Kathleen decided that not a drop of her precious materials should go to waste. To prevent her high-quality tubes of Rembrandt and Van Gogh oil paint from drying out over the summer holidays, she, in a creative impulse, processed all remaining paint and surpluses onto this canvas until the very last remnants were used up. The result is a beautiful, colorful 'cacophony of colors' with a very rich (see photos), three-dimensional texture (impasto technique). The composition, naturally built from top left to bottom right due to her left-handedness, abstractly depicts a large industrial shed or hangar, atmospherically lit by bright spotlights and lights. Multidirectional artwork (Completely free to hang): Thanks to the perfect balance in the horizontal and vertical lines, 'The Shed' is an officially multidirectional artwork. This means you can hang this painting in any direction along its four sides; it truly doesn't matter. Whether you attach it horizontally, vertically, or tilted to the wall: every orientation is correct. With every quarter turn you rotate the work, the dynamic of the light on the thick layers of paint changes, and the artwork gains a completely new look in your interior.
