The Moulin des Loups factory, established in Hamage-Thivencelle in northern France, is one of the great names in 20th-century French earthenware. Renowned for the quality of its ivory glaze and the delicacy of its floral motifs, it produced elegant tableware during the 1950s-1970s, which is now sought after by collectors. This plate belongs to the Mia Rosa pattern, reference 607. Against an ivory background, subtly tinged with blue on the rim, a central bouquet combines a large burgundy rose with shaded petals and blue-violet carnations with slender, vibrant stems. The design, hand-painted with great freedom of gesture, gives each piece its unique character. The shape is exquisite: a scalloped, undulating rim, with the border adorned by a raised white net-like pattern that runs all around the edge. The mark on the reverse, stamped MIA ROSA / 607 / MOULIN DES LOUPS / HAMAGE-THIVENCELLE / FRANCE, along with shape number 21, confirms its origin and production period. Diameter: 28 cm. Very good overall condition. A beautiful, signed French dinner plate, for lovers of vintage tableware from the North.
