The Brave New World Lamp, designed by Freshwest for Moooi, is a floor lamp that began as a conceptual creation, brought to fruition through thoughts and inspiration. Inspired by the ancient bamboo scaffolding of the Far East, the lamp was developed without a predetermined design or plan. Each piece of wood is carefully carved and joined together to become an integral part of the overall mechanical structure, comparable to the relationship between a sculpture and the material from which it is made. This lamp has the appearance of a craft project and presents itself as an interesting piece, with a raw yet functional aesthetic.
