This is the Ultima 15 ashtray, an iconic piece of Danish design created by the Swedish duo Holger Bäckström and Bo Ljungberg. The object is an excellent example of brutalist aesthetics, characterized by its strong, geometric form and raw material appearance.
The ashtray is made of cast aluminum, which ensures a solid and substantial presence. The two-part design consists of a heavy, square base and a removable grid. With dimensions of 15 cm wide, 15 cm deep, and 5 cm high, it has a compact yet striking profile. The gray, silvery color of the metal gives it an industrial yet refined look. As marked on the underside, this piece was produced in Denmark.
The overall condition of this vintage object is excellent, retaining its original matte finish. The construction is robust, and the two-part system makes the object practical to maintain. The patina is consistent with its age and contributes to the authentic character of the piece.
