Product description
A monumental, old temple statue of a standing Buddha in the classic Burmese Mandalay style (presumably late 19th century).
This authentic masterpiece is hand-carved from a single piece of solid teak wood.
The statue has a magnificent, aged appearance with beautiful natural craquelure.
The robe is richly decorated with lacquer work, gold leaf, and the traditional glass inlay in the headband.
An absolute eye-catcher for a high-end interior.
• Origin: Presumably Burma (Myanmar), late 19th century.
• Material: Solid teak wood, lacquer work, gold leaf, and mirror inlay.
• Height: 177 cm (including pedestal).
• Weight: 32.3 kg.
Good antique condition;
Natural shrinkage cracks consistent with its old age.
The notch already has a repaired piece and a damaged piece (see photos).
This is quite easy to restore.
Please bid according to value!
