Product description
DESCRIPTION
A particularly large and sculptural crystal centerpiece from the renowned French glassworks Daum France. This impressive object has an elongated, organic shape with gracefully raised points and an almost floating silhouette. The combination of clear crystal, flowing lines and its substantial size makes it a real eye-catcher, both as a bowl and as an independent art object.
The object is hand-signed at the base with “Daum France” and the characteristic Lorraine cross. The design is typical of Daum's post-war modernist production and presumably dates from approximately 1950-1965. Similar models are regularly referred to in trade as “Swallowtail” or freeform centerpiece.
With a length of no less than 79 cm, this is an exceptionally large specimen. A beautiful object for a large dining table, sideboard, counter or as a centerpiece in a modern, mid-century or eclectic interior.
