Design & Texture
The base is a beautiful example of the Fat Lava period from the 1960s and 70s. The ceramic is finished with a thick, volcanic glaze in rich earth tones, ranging from deep chocolate brown to warm amber. The raw, organic patterns give the lamp a powerful, Brutalist look characteristic of high-quality West German pottery (WGP).
Light & Atmosphere
The lamp is topped with its original, extra-high conical linen shade. As soon as the lamp is switched on, the shade spreads an atmospheric, diffused light that beautifully accentuates the rough textures of the ceramic base.
