Molteni Gio Ponti armchair
Elegant as a butterfly and cozy because of its sculptural design: armchair D.154.2 by Giovanni “Gio” Ponti (1891-1979), one of the leading Italian designers of the twentieth century, from the collection of the Italian Molteni. The design dates from the period 1953-1957 and was designed for Villa Planchart in the Venezuelan capital Caracas. The design is now part of the Gio Ponti collection by Molteni, which has been compiled by Molteni and is under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati. Ponti's iconic design also bears the name 'Love Chair', due to its graceful shapes and inviting character. The sculptural shape immediately embraces you when you take a seat in this armchair and offers a secure and extremely comfortable seat: the organic lines and soft shapes embrace the body and make the armchair very comfortable. In 2006, the design was awarded the prestigious 'Wallpaper design Awards'.
This item was a showroom model and is still in very good condition. The original retail price was €4246.
