Product description
Beautiful vintage coffee table model ‘1845’, designed by Kho Liang Ie and produced by Artifort in the 1960s. The design is typical of Kho Liang Ie's style, characterized by a very minimalist design and a clear construction. This piece comes from its first owner in Hoofddorp. She originally bought the table together with an ‘Osaka’ armchair by Martin Visser for ’t Spectrum. Due to a relocation, both pieces eventually became available again. The table has been carefully restored, preserving its original character. The teak top has been refinished with a protective silk-matte finish, bringing out the natural structure and warm color of the wood beautifully again. The chromed metal base has also been inspected and polished. As a result, the table is once again in an almost perfect vintage condition and ready for years of use. The design reduces the form of a coffee table to its essence. A square wooden top and a simple metal base. It doesn't get much more minimalist than that. The subtle rounding of the corners gives the top a bit more softness and makes the strict form less harsh. Sober, but anything but boring. In short. A timeless piece of Dutch Design in which you immediately recognize the hand of Kho Liang Ie. Its calm design also makes it easy to combine with other vintage designs, but just as well with a modern interior.
