Miriam Slaats is a versatile visual artist of international allure. Her work is authentic, intensive, strong and dynamic. The paintings are both light-footed and profound and penetrate to the essence of things. This layering is also representative of her own process as an artist. In 1988 she completed the Graphic and Publicity Design course at the Academy of Visual Arts in Maastricht. Her studio/atelier is located on a rustic canal in a historic city, not far from Amsterdam. There she works passionately and passionately on her paintings and sculptures almost every day. Her suitcases are always on standby next to her easel, because Slaats is a cosmopolitan. She considers the whole world her homeland and makes many trips every year to paint.
