This Mini-Jib wall lamp is a unique creation, designed and crafted in my workshop as a tribute to the spirit of Jean Prouvé.
Jean Prouvé (1901-1984), a metalworker by training (like myself), became one of the most influential designers and architects of the 20th century. His philosophy was simple: to combine technical ingenuity and functional beauty by eliminating all superfluity.
Among his most iconic creations is the JIB wall lamp, inspired by the rigging of sailboats: a streamlined arm, held by a single steel cable, light and elegant like a sail in the wind.
My Mini-Jib reinterprets this idea in a personal way.
Its ivory color evokes the elegance of sails.
The heather gray textile cable recalls ropes and the nautical spirit.
A steel tube arm (dating from the 1930s) supports an antique black enameled reflector, adjustable to direct the light exactly where it is needed. The lamp is switched on via the brass key switch integrated into the reflector socket and comes with 2 meters of fabric cable for easy connection.
