Product description
Sculptural solifleur vase made of alexandrite glass (neodymium glass), attributed to Miloslav Klinger, executed by Železnobrodské Sklo (ZBS), Czechoslovakia, presumably 1960s/70s. A small object with a big presence: The massive, thick-walled glass body shows a softly rounded triangular shape in plan view and looks like a stylized apple from the side. While the upper zone remains smooth and clear, the lower half is covered with a raised, pearly structure of fused glass granules. The interplay of transparency and texture is typical of the organic, haptic design language for which Klinger and the ZBS designers of the post-war period are known. ✨ Special features - Neodymium color change: delicate lilac to rose-violet in daylight, blue-violet to light blue under cool light – the object changes throughout the day - Versatile: as a solifleur for a single stem or as a holder for narrow taper candles - Considerable weight for its size, stable stand - The identical shape (same height) was offered at a German auction house as Miloslav Klinger / ZBS 📏 Measurements Height 8.2 cm · Width 8.2 cm · Opening Ø 2.1 cm · Weight approx. 500 g 🎨 Color/Material Alexandrite glass (neodymium glass), lilac/lavender with color change; hand-blown, surface with fused glass granules ⚙️ Condition Very good vintage condition, [no chips, no cracks].
