Product description
Charming and very authentic small milk jug (or table creamer on a pedestal) in salt-glazed stoneware, of Alsatian tradition, crafted in the heart of the 1970s by the master potters of Betschdorf (Bas-Rhin, France).
The original base features clearly incised handwritten engravings in the clay: the archive mold's shape number "225", the commercial height of the piece "10" centimeters, as well as the official hallmark (or heraldic monogram) of the manufacturer in the shape of a stylized "G". This workshop master's mark guarantees its historical authenticity and traditional Rhenish craftsmanship.
The bulbous body features a delicate floral decoration entirely hand-painted in cobalt blue, depicting a stylized flower surrounded by dark olive green leaves and a small soft pink bud, framed by two circular blue lines.
Features:
• Origin: Betschdorf (Alsace, France)
• Archive Model: Number 225 / Size 10
• Signature / Hallmark: Monogram G
• Material: Salt-glazed Alsace stoneware
• Period: Circa 1970-1980
• Dimensions: Height 10 cm | Length 13 cm | Width (diameter) 10 cm
• Condition: Splendid vintage condition. The heavy stoneware is perfectly sound, without any cracks or chips, the glazes have retained all their original freshness.
