This mid-century teak highboard S21 was designed in the early 1950s by Dieter Waeckerlin and manufactured by Behr in Germany. The piece is a textbook example of early modernist thinking: clear lines, rational construction, and a complete focus on function and proportion. No excess, no decoration – just balance and tranquility.
The highboard is crafted from warm teak with a fine, even grain that continues beautifully across the sleek, handleless doors. The understated fronts give the piece a serene appearance, while the slender metal legs add airiness and lightness. Behind the double doors lies a well-thought-out layout with several adjustable shelves in light wood, creating a subtle contrast with the teak. Two beautifully integrated drawers are placed at the bottom, virtually invisible in the front and perfectly integrated into the overall design.
The piece is in very good condition, with only a few minor signs of wear commensurate with its age. The wood has been carefully inspected and restored, preserving its original character and natural patina.
