Beautiful and authentic Venetian design object from the 1960s-1970s, manufactured on the island of Murano near Venice, Italy. This unique bowl (vide poche) is made using the famous Sommerso technique: a stunning layering where deep ruby red glass is encircled by a warm band of amber glass, beautifully encapsulated in clear crystal. This creates a unique depth effect and a brilliant play of light in the room. Such organic, geometric pieces were produced by renowned Murano ateliers (such as Archimede Seguso or Cenedese) and are documented in design literature (e.g., Italian Glass: Century 20 by Leslie Pina).
