About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This mid-century modern room divider and wall unit was manufactured by Schreiber during the 1960s. The piece exemplifies the era's functional approach to domestic storage, combining open shelving with closed compartments in a cohesive, freestanding architectural form.
Constructed with a warm wood veneer, the unit features a drop-down desk or drinks cabinet, open display shelves, a sliding door cupboard, and three drawers with distinctive recessed wooden handles. The piece is elevated on tapered wooden legs, a hallmark of the period's design language. The manufacturer's mark is present inside the drawer, confirming its provenance.
The wall unit remains in highly presentable condition, retaining its original finish and structural integrity. The wood grain displays a rich, consistent tone throughout the various components, reflecting careful preservation over the decades.
This versatile piece serves effectively as a room divider in open-plan spaces or as a comprehensive storage solution against a wall. Its clean lines and warm tones integrate seamlessly into mid-century modern, Scandinavian-inspired, or contemporary eclectic interiors.
