Product description
This is a Mid-20th Century rocking chair, executed in the style of Milo Baughman. The design combines a chrome-plated tubular frame with a leather seat, characteristic of the Mid-Century Modern era. The chair stands out with its flowing, sculptural lines and the contrast between the cool metal and the warm, tufted leather. The frame is made of bent, chrome-plated metal forming a continuous sled base. The seat and backrest are upholstered in cognac-colored leather, finished with a classic diamond pattern and buttons. The back of the backrest is covered with a contrasting beige textile fabric. This design, reminiscent of Thonet's aesthetic, is an example of the innovative furniture forms of the 1970s. The chair is in vintage condition, reflecting its age and history. The leather has developed a lived-in patina, and unfortunately, there are paint splatters on it. However, these could be removed with appropriate means. The construction is solid, and the chair retains its original shape and comfort. It is therefore a well-used chair that is good in terms of quality but has unfortunately suffered some wear over the years. The price reflects this. This rocking chair is a striking accent piece that fits well into various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern and eclectic to industrial. It is a comfortable and stylish addition to a living room, reading nook, or bedroom.
