Private sellerProduct description
This Mid-Century Modern desk lamp was manufactured by Lidokov in the former Czechoslovakia during the 1970s. The piece exemplifies the functionalist design ethos of Eastern European lighting from this era, characterised by its bold silhouette and practical articulation. Constructed primarily from metal, the lamp features a vibrant red enameled finish on both the circular base and the adjustable shade. A curved chrome stem connects the two elements, providing a striking contrast against the primary colourway. The interior of the shade is finished in white to optimise light reflection for focused task lighting. The base retains its original push-button switch and the manufacturer's stamp, identifying it as model TYP L204-1398, designed to accommodate a standard 60-watt bulb. The fixture remains in good vintage condition, retaining its original finish and structural integrity. It displays a genuine patina acquired over decades of use, which adds to its historical character without compromising its functionality as a reliable light source. This distinctive red desk lamp serves as a compelling accent piece for contemporary home offices or creative studios. Its vivid colour and industrial lineage make it an excellent complement to both minimalist Scandinavian interiors and eclectic vintage spaces.
