Desk lamp produced in Europe during the 1950s. The fixture has an adjustable cone shade executed in raw copper. The shade is balanced on a slender, elegantly curved brass arm that coordinates with a matching cast brass teardrop base. The interior of the copper dome shade is lacquered in a light cream finish to maximize downlighting efficiency. This design pairs the warm, changing patina of natural copper with polished brass structural detailing. The fluid lines and specialized mixture of architectural metals are characteristic of premium post-war modernist lighting workshops across Italy, France, and West Germany during the mid-1950s. Suited as a sophisticated reading light on a study desk or styled as an accent lamp on a library shelving layout. Very Good.
