Product description
A pair of wonderful Mid-Century armchairs by designer Jaroslav Šmidek for TON.
The chairs show classic 1960s Czechoslovak design, combining clean lines with comfortable seating.
Šmídek (1935 -2005) was a designer, creator, craftsman with heart and soul: an architect from Brno, an artist at the "Centre for Folk Art Production" (1951–1955), and one of the main designers in Brno, Czechoslovak, and European furniture production (1955–1966). Šmídek was one of the first furniture designers to choose a modular structure for his kitchens and wall units. His furniture was intended to be modular and disassemblable.
These vintage armchairs by Jaroslav Šmídek from the 60s also have a short, period-typical name: "Armchair 6971".
Jaroslav Šmídek designed them around the late 50s / early 60s.
Our armchairs were manufactured by TON in the 60s.
Rare to find in this condition and they are in good shape!
A truly great vintage furniture pair that brings wonderful coziness to the living room.
Also well suited for a holiday apartment / holiday home.
Approx. dimensions:
Width 64 x Depth 50 x Total height 84 cm
Seat height 39 cm
The price is for both armchairs.
