Product description
Beautiful hand-blown glass design vase (or tealight holder) from the 70s, in a very characteristic organic shape with 'spikes' / knobs. This model is attributed to the Czech designer Jan Beránek for the famous glass factory Skrdlovice (Bohemia).
The object is executed in a rare, deep dark color. In the shade, the vase appears glossy ink black, but as soon as bright light falls on it, the glass lights up beautifully warm amber/orange.
At the bottom, the vase has a perfectly smooth-ground, matte pontil mark, which proves the high-quality craftsmanship of the studio glass.
Details:
• Height: approx. 15 cm
• Origin: Czechoslovakia, 70s (Mid-Century Modern)
• Condition: In very good vintage condition. No cracks or major damage. As is often the case with this model, 1 or 2 spikes at the very tip are slightly dull/rough due to age (almost invisible when placed, but mentioned for completeness).
A beautiful and robust collector's item that looks great in a modern, eclectic or vintage interior!
Pick up or carefully and thickly packed shipping (buyer's risk).
