Product description
A mid-century ceramic bowl, designed by the Dutch ceramist Jan van Erp. This piece is a characteristic example of his work, combining a rough, textured exterior with a vibrantly glazed interior.
The bowl is executed in a Brutalist style, with a dark, almost volcanic texture on the exterior contrasting with the smooth, glossy red and black glaze on the interior. The square shape with rounded corners is typical of modernist design from that period. This object is a strong decorative statement, suitable for a sideboard, coffee table, or as a standalone art object.
