A handsome set of four antique French wine bottle coasters by the Parisian silversmithing house C. Balaine.
Each circular coaster features a restrained polished well surrounded by a molded rim finished with a delicate beaded border, creating an elegant balance between practical tableware and refined 19th-century French design.
Originally intended to protect the dining table while presenting wine bottles or decanters, the four matching pieces make a particularly appealing set for today's table, whether used in a traditional or more contemporary setting.
Each coaster bears the C. BALAINE maker's mark to the underside, together with a manufacturer's hallmark.
Silver-plated metal.
