Product description
Elegant Danish teak bar cabinet, designed by Illum Wikkelsø for CFC Silkeborg in the 1960s. A rare and particularly refined piece, it perfectly illustrates the balance between functionality and elegance characteristic of mid-20th-century Danish design.
Compact and designed entirely for practical use, this bar cabinet combines the warmth of teak with black surfaces that accentuate its clean, graphic lines. Its ingenious interior layout offers dedicated spaces for bottles, glasses, and bar accessories, while its discreet casters allow for easy relocation.
With its well-balanced proportions and timeless aesthetic, it fits equally well in a Mid-Century interior or a more contemporary setting. A piece that is both decorative and functional, whose design retains its modern appeal today.
This piece of furniture belongs to the grand tradition of Danish Modern, alongside the creations of Poul Kjærholm, Hans J. Wegner, Børge Mogensen, Finn Juhl, and Arne Jacobsen—contemporaries of Illum Wikkelsø who helped define modern Scandinavian aesthetics through their pursuit of simplicity, functionality, and exceptional craftsmanship.
A beautiful collector's item for lovers of vintage Danish furniture and 1960s Nordic design.
