ProfessionalProduct description
The extraordinary “Phoenix” Bookcase, designed by renowned Italian architect and designer Michele de Lucchi, and produced by the influential Memphis Group in Milan in 1983. Known for its bold, avant-garde style, this piece exemplifies the playful yet functional design ethos of the Memphis movement. Made of a combination of materials such as wood, steel, glass, and plastic laminate. The Phoenix Bookcase is a statement piece that defies traditional design boundaries. Notably, this is one of only four examples ever produced, making it an exceedingly rare collectible. One such model was part of the personal collection of fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, further emphasizing its status as a design icon. This rare bookcase is not just a functional item but a piece of art that embodies the spirit of the 1980s design revolution. Perfect for collectors of iconic Memphis furniture or those looking to elevate their interior with a truly unique statement piece. Memphis Furniture Milano 1983, sales catalogue, Milan, 1983.
