About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a characteristic pendant lamp from the 1950s, featuring a three-armed frame and striking milk glass shades. The design is a typical example of the Mid-Century Modern style, where the combination of warm wood and soft, diffused light is central. The lamp combines functionality with a sculptural form characteristic of post-war design.
The construction consists of a wooden ceiling rose and fixture accents, combined with a metal frame that is probably brass. The three arms each support a ribbed, spherical shade of white milk glass. This type of glass provides a pleasant, non-glaring light distribution. The original wiring is still present, contributing to the authentic appearance of the piece.
The overall condition of the lamp is consistent with its age and use. One of the globes has a crack. Optionally, the lamp can be disassembled such that the two undamaged globes can be reused as two identical separate milk glass pendant lamps. The wooden and metal parts show a patina that enhances the vintage character of the object. The glass shades are largely intact and retain their original shape and texture, which is essential for the aesthetic value of the lamp.
The stated dimensions refer to the diameter and height of the milk glass globes.
This pendant lamp is particularly suitable for placement above a dining table or as a central light source in a living room. The design fits seamlessly into an interior with a preference for vintage, Scandinavian or Mid-Century Modern design, where it will add an atmospheric and historical accent.
