This is Mechanologram 1, a unique geometric artwork on paper that explores the boundary between human creativity and mechanical precision. The work was created using a technique I call mechanolography: a drawing process in which movement, rhythm, and calculation come together.
The drawing consists of hundreds of razor-fine lines that form a complex geometric pattern layer by layer. These lines were applied by a custom-made drawing machine with four motors that can rotate independently of each other, each with its own speed and direction. Together, they drive a mechanical arm in which a pen is placed. Through the subtle interplay between these individual movements, an image emerges that feels both controlled and organic: a synergy of design, chance, and mechanical execution.
