About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a vintage floor lamp by the Yugoslavian manufacturer Meblo, dating from the Space Age era. Its design is characteristic of the 1970s, featuring a bold colour and a simple, futuristic silhouette that captures the optimism of the period.
The lamp is constructed with a chrome-plated metal frame, including a slender central column and a circular weighted base for stability. The defining feature is its large, dome-shaped shade made from a vibrant orange plastic, which casts a warm, downward-focused light. Produced in the former Yugoslavia, Meblo was known for its collaborations with Italian designers, and this piece reflects that influential aesthetic.
The lamp is in a very good vintage condition, showing minimal signs of its age. The chrome finish remains bright and reflective, and the orange plastic shade has retained its glossy surface and strong colour. The electrical components, including the original cord and inline switch, appear to be intact and functional.
With its striking form and colour, this floor lamp serves as a functional light source and a significant decorative statement. It is well-suited for a living room, study, or bedroom, adding a distinct touch of Retro or Space Age style to a modern or eclectic interior.
