A very beautiful blown glass globe soliflore by Mdina Glass, a Maltese manufacturer that became one of the remarkable names in European art glass of the second half of the 20th century. This 1970s piece showcases the stylistic codes associated with Michael Harris's glass language. Founded in Malta in the late 1960s, Mdina Glass emerged from the encounter between blown glass and Michael Harris's artistic universe. The designer created pieces inspired by the Mediterranean, its landscapes, and its light. The low, almost spherical silhouette concentrates a significant thickness of glass. A deep cobalt blue blends with green hues, particularly visible around the neck, while small bubbles punctuate the material, giving it an aquatic depth. A large clear glass disc, hot-applied, adorns the side of the piece. It bears the Maltese cross in relief, directly affirming the Maltese origin of this creation. Light passes through the colored layers, making the blue and green tones evolve. Whether holding a single flower, a slender stem, or simply empty, the soliflore maintains a compact and sculptural presence. A few micro-scratches and slight traces of use are visible depending on the light, particularly under the base. They remain consistent with the age of the piece. Height approximately 11 cm.
